Addis Ababa

A trip to Addis Ababa would not be complete without a visit to a traditional tej bet, a bar dedicated to the Ethiopian national drink tej. Bright orange in colour, this particular brew is served in a berele, a bottle that would look more at home in a laboratory than a bar. This “honey wine” has been brewed and consumed in the country for millennia, and its popularity does not show any signs of waning.
