There’s a lot more to Baltimore than the Inner Harbour, a waterfront lined with chain restaurants that is an absolute mecca for tourists. The true charm of this city can instead be found in quirky cocktail bars and world-food restaurants nestled among the 19th century architecture. The real star of the city is Lane Harlan, owner of cocktail bar WX Harlan, and the bartender who brought mezcal to Baltimore. Her namesake cocktail bar and the Clavel Mezcalería are a little further out from the centre of town, but well worth a visit.
