Kombucha might be taking the health-conscious consumer universe by storm, but Ugandans have their own all-natural fermented drink to shout about: bushera. Although it has traditionally been produced in Western Uganda, residents of Kampala are going wild for bushera and its much-lauded health benefits. With a shelf life of just two weeks, it could be seen by bar owners as a risky product – but, not to worry, it rarely stays in stock for that long.
