Never underestimate the power of the “local”. The UK has long had a tradition of “going down the local”, but over 4,000 miles away in Nairobi they have very much the same mentality. Local neighbourhood bars are where the majority of Kenyan revellers start and finish the night – with some local bars barely shutting. Although many of them do serve spirits and cocktails, the most popular way to start or end a night out in Nairobi is with a nice cold beer.
