Cocktails are enjoying a period of extreme popularity in Singapore, and most visitors to this small island nation feel almost obliged to have at least one of the city’s namesake cocktails. Said to have been created at Raffle’s Long Bar, the Singapore Sling can be found in cocktail bars all over the city, with each bartender creating the cocktail with their own signature flair. After a renovation period, the Long Bar has recently reopened – but it’s not just the interiors that have been given a makeover. The “new” Singapore Sling has a new gin, a new liqueur and even a custom-made grenadine syrup, proving that this cocktail is far from being outdated.
