There is no shortage of fantastic places to eat and drink in Osaka, a city that is often referred to as Tenka no Daidokoro (the nation’s kitchen). If you want to escape the crowds and discover an area that feels a little more like old Osaka, you need to go to Hozenji Yokocho, a little cobbled street lined with more than 50 small restaurants and bars. There is a delicious range of food on offer, but the locals would recommend you wash it all down with a few glasses of shochu.
